brand New award for the best turned out Dad *
Tim Hart, when he had his makeover at West Quay and come out looking like
a young Richard Gere. But this years winner is ; Martin Kingsbury
He finally confirmed the prize when Max Frisby was seen asking Martin
about his hair preparation and beauty tips in the dressing room after
the Dads played Securicor Martin was touched and was going straight home to put it on the mantelpiece alongside his treasured "Own Goal of the Year" award. Then
it was off to the Dakha Indian Restaurant, which was coincidentally across
the road from the Dorchester, imagine that! Comedy Nominations ; Tony O'Neill
Harry Virdee for the best customer at the Sun On Chinese - Spare Ribs Award I'm sure John Frisso took root last night. Is there a Charlie Dimmock award which reflects lack of pace but furious growth ????????????????? Mal, is it too early to nominate miss ( or several ) of the season, if not, I'd like to nominate Dave Hedges for his efforts last night.!!!!!!!!!!!! Jon Elms I'll be there. My player of the season is Tony Pascoe who sustained terrible injury but fought his way back to being an even worse player than before and who is scared of heading the ball....a natural Springhill Dad. Jim Allen 2002 World Peace Award - Rob for not fighting on tour or in my car on the way home! Andy Simpson Own Goal - didn't Jimbo get one??? if not put him down for it.... Haircut - got to be Tim for putting a rinse through it!!! Jason Furness I have used the force to pick my choices.......... Haircut of the year - I was caught between 2 choices. The first being Martin Kingsbury and the second being Martin Kingsbury....I have decided on Martin Kingsbury! Player of the year - I would like to nominate any of the new players that have started since I left - as I have seen all the other ones play. Own goal of the year - Maldwyn (probably!) Jerry Pugh Own Goal - Rob Thorpe, he must have scored at least one Bad
Hair - Has to be Brian Medway Previous winners of Own Goal Of The Year 1991/92
- Mal Barton Own Goal of the Year Only one Player could win it - Tony Pascoe His own goals (and the only Dads own goals that season) against Securicor when they beat the Dads 5 - 1 in September and again when P&O beat the Dads by an innings in March set him aside. Previous Golden Boot Winners 1987/88
- Frank Winter Golden Boot In a poor season for goal scoring the closest to the golden boot was Andy Simpson with 4 but the winner with 6 was; Jim Allen Previous Players of the Year 1987/88
- Georgio Colombi Player of the Year Nominations - Harry, Tony(1996/7), Jim (2000/1), Brian . . . After t he Springhill Dads' unique, patented voting system had collated the votes and cross-referenced the candidates there could be only one winner, the first coloured winner; Harry Virdee
